Harvest Workers Duties:
Harvesting labourers perform some or all of the following duties:
- Pick row and orchard crops
- Sort, weigh and pack fruit and vegetables at farm
- Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce and products for transport
- Clean up racks, trays, and growing and packaging areas
- General farm operations including health checks and care of calves, manage cleanliness of barns, milking
- Provide harvest crews for farmers and direct and coordinate crew activities, such as field hauling and threshing.
- Operate all harvest equipment also deliver and transfer grain to customers.
- Operate RF scanning equipment to account and inventory manufacture products.
Job description
Up to 500 positions available for general farm labour, picking, packing & pruning of mix crops within the Bundaberg Region.
Work is expected to start early January 2024 with multiple intakes until Mid November 2024 and last from 6 to 9 months. Depending on tasks, the pay may be either hourly or piece rates. Work times will normally commence from 6am & finish around 4pm, though this may change from time to time. Weekend availability is also a requirement for the positions.
Payment is under the Horticulture Award, 2020, classification as Level 1 Casual. There may be an opportunity to undertake training and upskilling in this role, which can allow your remuneration to increase as per the levels in the horticultural award.
